History Comes Alive at Barryscourt Castle!

There was great excitement in Scoil Chlochair Mhuire this week as we took part in a truly historic moment — the reopening of Barryscourt Castle, right here in Carrigtwohill!

Our children had the chance to explore the beautifully restored castle, where the past seemed to leap off the walls. From grand halls to spiral staircases, our students soaked up every moment — and asked enough questions to keep the tour guides on their toes all day!

We are so grateful to the amazing team at Barryscourt, whose knowledge, patience and storytelling made the experience come alive for our budding historians.

There’s no doubt about it: you can’t beat learning by doing. And while the children were especially intrigued by the dungeon… we can safely say we won’t be installing one at Scoil Chlochair Mhuire. (Though it was briefly considered for storing forgotten lunchboxes! 😄)
