Recording Absences
We understand that children miss school from time to time and we ask that parents record the reason for any absence directly through the Aladdin Parent Portal. This makes the process quick and straightforward for everyone and ensures our records are always accurate and up to date.
Please be aware that under Irish education law, the school is required to report to the National Education Welfare Board any pupil who misses twenty or more days in a school year. Reasons for absences will be noted as part of this process.
The Aladdin System
Scoil Chlochair Mhuire uses the Aladdin system to support the smooth and effective running of the school. Aladdin is a secure, cloud-based platform with extended SSL encryption, meaning your child's data is fully protected at all times — even when accessed over an unsecured connection. It eliminates the risk of physical loss or theft of data and strengthens our compliance with data protection law.
Aladdin Frame
We also use Aladdin Frame to share photos of your child's school day with you — giving you a warm and genuine window into classroom life in a safe, private environment. It is one of the ways we keep our home-school partnership alive and real, every day. We believe that well-informed parents are a child's greatest advantage. Aladdin helps us make that happen.
The Parent Portal
The Aladdin Parent Portal gives you secure, convenient access to your child's information at any time. Through the portal you can:
Monitor your child's attendance, including late arrivals and early leaving
View notices, emails, texts and newsletters from the school
View class lists and update your own contact information
Opt in or out of your child's class contact list
View your child's standardised test scores
View and download your child's end-of-year school report
To access your child's end-of-year documents, we need a valid, active email address for you on file. Please make sure your contact details are always kept up to date through the portal.
